We moved to the countryside from a coastal city and I miss being by the sea. So I've embraced riverside walks.

I use AI to generate SEO descriptions for Pinterest. It can be really helpful if you have 10 variations on a single post to share. Saves a lot of time! I find it helpful for tasks like that.

Ohh I feel you Sarah, and so glad I’m not the only one missing the sea, makes it somehow more bearable.

I have 0 knowledge of Pinterest and will ask ChatGPT for advice haha because I’ve been wanting to explore it forever. love that you’re co-creating SEO copy! How did you get started with Pinterest initially? X

I love the picture you paint of life in the mountains, so beautiful. And yes to the turning inward and the quest for extra sleep! Loved the poem, astounded at how it was created, I have zero experience with AI but this was a beautiful collaboration! xx

I’m so slow with responding on here right now, but glad this substack bubble feels so similarly about rest and going inward at this time of the year. 😴

Thank you lovely, I’m still learning the “language “ aka how to prompt ChatGPT to co-create and not just spit out soulless ideas. It’s beautiful what’s possible, also love what Sarah shared in her comment about her experience. But definitely frustrating and overwhelming at first, glad I had some colleagues who shared some best practice with me initially. X

To be honest I love the slow trickle of comments and replies, it makes everything feel more expansive! It sounds like a very interesting experiment and I really did love what you created in collaboration with ChatGTP! xx

Lovely piece about the winter start. I definitely feel the hibernation mode kicking in, with short days and brisky cold nights (despite still having 20ºC during the daytime here). I've always definitely been a seaside person, but ever since I made a seaside city my home, I started craving the mountains. I guess I need a balance of the two. There is something so majestic, solemn and humbling about the mountains, nothing else can compare with them. 💙

You described the magic of the mountains so beautifully, Monica! And a balance is like with most things probably the best.

I’m trying to imagine / remember what 20 degrees feel like but I’m failing, it’s -8 degrees here today 😅

Haha yes, our bodies get adapted to the temperature where we are and we don't perceive the degrees the same way. 14°C this morning and I'm wearing a thick winter coat and a big scarf, gloves in my pockets. 😊

I'm a mountain girl for sure! Thank you for sharing those gorgeous photos! I'm fascinated by the whole AI thing. I understand the controversy around it and I enjoy dabbling in it from time to time. I like that you used the term co-creation with AI. That feels so inclusive!

So more mountain photos for you in the future, Jenna :)

Yess co-creation because the AI is only generating empty words without our human heart and mind I think. And only we have the context. I truly believe in “befriending” AI tools and learning how they can support us instead of worrying what they can do “against” us. And yes ethics are key. And the more we are empowered, the better we can make informed decisions and speak up for ourselves.

What have you created with it so far? I’m keen to try image creation next.

I've been playing with midjourney for months, which has been really fun. And, recently, canva added a few AI features that I've dabbled with. The writing one helped a couple times with giving me a starting point when I was stuck, and then I edited it to my own voice and style. I heard on a podcast recently a guy was talking about how we (humans) like to make models (or artificial representations) of things in order to understand them (like maps to understand space as one example). He suggested that through creating artificial intelligence we will come to a deeper understanding of intelligence itself and, through that, we will be able to better understand/appreciate the profound intelligence of the natural world around us. I thought that was super cool! If I can remember the guy's name, I'll let you know.
