This was a lovely read. I always think who I would be if I didn't dream. I wouldn't have started my newsletter and connected with so many life-minded people here on Substack. Life is indeed too short for us to delay experiencing peace because we don't know where the finish line is.
Thank you for the mention too, Carmen. As always, your kindness is appreciated♥️
Carmen! I loved reading your post. Finding your mom’s diary is such a beautiful and touching story. It’s amazing how life surprises us and reminds us to cherish every moment. Your thoughts on dreams not being a binding contract and how they can change over time really resonated with me 💖
Thank you so much for your kind message Mohika! Great to have you in my corner of the substack.
Yess releasing the goals from the obligation to serve us und freeing ourselves from sticking to something we no longer want is so freeing, isn’t it!? ✨
Thank you for such a wonderful read Carmen. I am a constant over thinker and sometimes it gets very unbearable to be inside my mind. This is a lovely reminder to live more in the present moment 🤍
Such a beautiful dream to be realised. I feel like I'm on this path too of rediscovering what I want in life and the dreams I want to reach for. As you say, life is fleeting we must try and make the most of it ❤️
Such a beautiful reminder to just life. It is always difficult after the loss of a loved one and finding something that belonged to them can be beautiful but also a painful experience. Sending you hugs!
I love this heartfelt post Carmen, what a beautiful gift that you have been given. Whatever you decide to do with it, it's one of those magical moments that inspires hopes and dreams. 💖
I used to be confused when I stopped wanting what I thought I wanted for a long time. How my dreams changed with the course of time? On reflection, I realised my dreams are not changing, they are getting better aligned with me. I love your thoughts,Loiusa.
Ahhh I love that “dreams are not changing, they are getting better aligned with me.” This is a huge realisation thank you for sharing Shanjitha (and also thank you for subscribing!) 🙏
Thank you June! It was a lovely surprise and taught me so much about wishes and that actually many things we think we need to be happy, find peace etc aren’t crucial and don’t change our life to a degree we may think .
Beautiful and tender, Carmen! ♥️ But also, this reads like a mystery: who gave you the journal? Did you dare open it? What was in it?? I know it's private and only for your eyes, but the way you wrote about it makes up for a mysterious ending. :)
Also, I love that German tradition of friends writing on the margins of poems! Why don't we all do that more often?!

What a lovely post. I can feel your trepidation about the lost/found diary. It's scary but kind of delicious. Your words are very wise. Thank you.

I understand, it's more the finding in itself, and also the delay...!
