I loved your reflections on this Carmen and so true - we don't need a particular day to buy flowers or celebrate love or mothers or fathers. I think a lot would change if we would treat life as a celebration rather than wait for days to actively celebrate and recognise its gifts (and our gifts). Also cannot get this song out of my head now hahah
Hahah sorry for the “Ohrwurm”. Yess celebrating life as it is, daily, the mundane moments and those that turn out special, totally unplanned. Giving and receiving love, without needing to proof anything to ourselves and others. ♥️
Let’s make everyday flower day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or whatever day is supposed to be extra special…… I don’t think those special days can be planned. They just happen as life happens, which is the most beautiful thing 🥰
Like New Year’s Eve, the day of the year and we plan all the fun and it never really meets people’s expectations haha life’s joys happen when we don’t expect them and every mundane day, unplanned, you’re so right!
I don't care for any of these commercialized , so called holidays either. Many times (if I entertain it) I switch it up and make it my own flavor 😉. Loved your article!
Yes right, make it to something that works for us rather than living by other people’s rules. 🙌 glad we’re already 2 who don’t subscribe to Valentine’s Day
Loved this! Yes to all of the flowers, my actual favourite thing and to the dancing, I actually went to a dance class yesterday and it was so much fun. Gorgeous post, so many lovely, joy-inducing things, thank you for writing it xx
I really love this and agree so strongly on hating commercialised holidays. They often feel like they make more people dwell on the inadequacies and lack in their lives than really as a source of gratitude or celebration. And I love the idea of holding your own hand, this has been such a change with how I live my life recently, always with empathy and softness towards myself and lots of little treats and gestures that reinforce I am worthy of love.
